Bernalillo County Indigents

Evangelico Cemetery is one of Albuquerque’s historic resting places, serving generations of families and reflecting the deep roots of our community.

Within the cemetery is a designated memorial area honoring individuals who were laid to rest as indigents—those whose identities, families, or circumstances may not have been fully known at the time of burial. A memorial plaque stands in their honor, affirming that every life has value and deserves to be remembered with dignity and respect.

This space exists both to honor those entrusted to our care and to serve the community. If you are searching for a lost loved one or believe a family member may have been buried without services or identification, we encourage you to visit or contact us for more information. Our hope is to preserve history, honor lives, and help reconnect families whenever possible.

If you would like to visit, the obelisk is located in the southwest corner of the cemetery.
